Dr. Abrams practices patent law with an emphasis on work in the technical areas of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and the chemical arts.
He prepares and prosecutes patent applications, and drafts opinions concerning patentability, validity, non-infringement, enforceability, and Hatch-Waxman Paragraph IV certifications. Dr. Abrams has experience with due diligence investigations and counsels clients regarding patent law, trademark law, license agreements, and international intellectual property law issues. Dr. Abrams has lectured on patentable subject matter, prior art under the America Invents Act, patent validity, Chinese patent law, and structuring agreements between U.S. and Chinese companies to help U.S. companies maintain ownership of their intellectual property.
